YouTube 10 years at the Nordic Museum
When YouTube celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2015, Stockholm invited guests to an inspiration event at the Nordiska Museet on Djurgården in Stockholm. During the event, guests listened to lectures from Google executives and guest speakers from VICE magazine, among others. The stage program was led by moderator Clara Henry and featured performances from SkillTwins, Rackartygarna, Otto Knows, Erik Hassle and Little Jinder. Our assignment consisted of making a local interpretation of a globally developed concept with a stage design and a fire guide. The solution was a massive ground support system in a truss with water-filled ballast tanks to be able to rig a 20m wide and 4m high LED wall that became the backdrop for the entire stage. For the main stage, we also delivered sound and lighting technology for the presentations and live artists.
In addition to the solution for the main stage, we also built a smaller stage for artists in the other part of the room where the after-party was held, as well as backdrops where you yourself got to play the main role in classic YouTube clips. For example, riding the wrecking ball like Miley Cyrus does in the video for the song Wrecking Ball.
A big thank you to Utsikt Kommunikation and Google / Youtube for the trust.
